Diamond’s are a Girl’s Best Friend
Although I’ve been married for four years now, that does not mean I don’t still find great joy in admiring diamonds and engagement rings. Some of my friends are approaching that stage in their life/ relationships and I love being the go-to-girl for engagement ring advice and shopping. I also enjoy keeping up with ring trends and watching the subtle changes each season. I’ve chosen my top five engagement rings for Summer 2018 from Paris Jewellersto share with those of you who have ring shopping on the mind or just find happiness in admiring sparkly things, like I do.
If you know me at all, you probably know I love rose gold and am so glad to see it popping up everywhere over the past few seasons, from jewelry, to sunglasses, home décor, and even zippers and other hardware. To me, rose gold is ultra-feminine and also classy. This 14kt Rose Gold Diamond Halo Engagement Ring with oval center stones gives me vintage Hollywood movie star vibes. All a girl needs to pair with this stunning ring is a glass of rosé and mini cocktail dress. Cheers to rose gold!
When I was searching for my own perfect engagement ring (yes I chose my own- don’t judge me), I was immediately drawn to cushion cut diamonds. A cushion cut is similar to a square princess cut; however, the edges are rounded, which makes for a more romantic and antique feel. This 18KT Fire of the North Cushion Cut Engagement Ring brings all those things to the table. Plus, being a Fire of the North diamond, means this ring is a symbol of pure Canadian passion, crafted in Canadian gold. Always a selling point in my books (have you seen the movie Blood Diamond?!). Of my top five picks, this ring most closely resembles my own engagement ring, so maybe I’m biased for choosing it? ;)
There is something so clean and pristine about a round cut diamond. Round diamonds are one of the most popular cuts, likely because they maximize brightness and clarity. Don’t dull your shine, girl! This 18Kt White Gold 1.60 Carat Diamond Engagement Ringis sure to get you noticed wherever you go. I picture it paired with a Cinderella Princess wedding gown, maybe even a tiara? And forsure a handsome groom :)
A shape I have been drawn to more recently is the oval cut diamond. I have to be honest, when I was on hunt for engagement rings, I feel like I overlooked the oval. But over the past few seasons, I’ve been seeing more oval diamonds and they have certainly grown on me. The elongated shape of the oval gives the illusion of an even bigger stone- who wouldn’t want that?! This 18kt White Gold Oval Halo Diamond Engagement Ring, checks all the boxes. The oval cut elongates the shape, while the halo further increases the appearance of the size. They might just be fooled by the rock that you got (I’m still, I’m still Jenny from the Block).
Last but certainly not least, this Rose Gold1.00 Halo Diamond Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Setwas a standout pick. For the girl who is going for unique and wants a ring all her own, this one is sure to set you apart from the rest. The multi-stone center makes this set a conversation piece on your hand. Accented by rose gold, it is a one-of-a-kind piece that I can’t say I’ve seen much of before. I also appreciate how well the wedding band fits in alongside the ring. Which really makes me think about adding an ‘anniversary band’ to my own set… How long do I need to wait for that? 5 years? 10 years? Anytime is a good time? I’ll go with that. And cross my fingers my husband is reading this ;)
