Self Care Gift Guide

This season can be extremely exhausting, between financial stress, shopping, family gatherings, and the pressure to have a picture perfect holiday, anxieties can be high. When I am feeling overwhelmed with my day-to-day life, I have found that taking time for myself helps me reset and relax. This may be a soak in the tub, a visit to a spa, or binging a new series on Netflix. Whether shopping for yourself or someone on your list, I’ve got you covered in the self-care department.

  1. Oribe Gold Lust Hair Care Line

This line is by far the most luxurious hair care line I have ever used; from the packaging, to the scent, to the quality of the product itself. I used to think that all salon brand products were created equal, but the Gold Lust line definitely changed my mind. I know not everyone is able to or comfortable paying these prices for shampoo and conditioner for themselves, which is why it would be a great gift idea to ask for or treat someone to. I love the lather of the shampoo, how rich the conditioner is and I use the oil everyday to help keep my ends hydrated. Pick yours up locally at Sage The Beauty Bar or find the Shampoo, Conditioner, Masque, and hair oil online.

  2. Eucalyptus Shower Steamers

I like to romanticize my daily life as much as possible, which sometimes means turning my showers into a spa atmosphere and these little shower steamers definitely make that happen. Drop one of the pucks onto the floor of your shower, and the eucalyptus and peppermint oil vapors will be released. It’s a small little treat that elevates your shower and makes a hot shower just that much more enjoyable. Find them locally at The Refillery or online here. They would make a divine stocking stuffer.

  3. Facial Steamer

My mom got me on using a facial steamer when I was a teenager and I’ve been meaning to get one ever since. I still borrow hers when I need one. The steam is so nice, warm, and relaxing in the winter. I use it when I feel like my skin is getting congested and I need to clean out my pores. Although my esthetician friends will hate me for making this recommendation, I also find the steamer works really well in combination with one of these tools to get rid of clogged pores and blackheads. I actually think I am going to order myself this steamer right now- BRB.

  4. Sheep Skin Slippers

At the risk of sounding high maintenance (as if you don’t already know), I exclusively wear slippers indoors and avoiding having bare feet at all costs. There I said it ;) But for real, ever since I got my first pair of quality sheep skin slippers, I have never looked back. They are just so plush and cozy. I feel like you need real sheep skin for them to last a long time, I also prefer a hard sole for comfort and grip. I like my slippers to be slightly tight at first because they are bound to stretch out. My top recommendations include the Emu slippers and UGG slippers. If you are looking for a lower price point, these ones are also super cute.

  5. Hygge Holiday Candles

Shameless plug alert * Let it be known, I am a candle connoisseur. I like to have a candle burning any time I am at home. And all candles are not created equally. Things I look for in a candle include- clean burning, wood wick, unique scents, and long lasting. So you know what I did? I went and created my own line of holiday candles, in collaboration with Hygge Candle Co. Hygge had created some of my most favourite candles ever and I was always extremely impressed with how well they burnt, so when they approached me about the idea of creating a line of candles, I obviously said “YES!” We teamed up to create three limited edition, holiday inspired scents. Santa Baby reminds me of walking through a crisp, winter forest- it’s unique and natural smelling with notes of fresh currant, juniper berry, balsam, bergamot and cedar. It’s name comes from my Dec 25th birthday and is a crowd favourite forsure. Caramelized Pecans was inspired by the fragrant aromas that fill your Grandma’s house when she bakes your favourite holiday treats, with notes of caramel, brown sugar, buttery pecans, and a dash of Himalayan sea salt. Lastly, Maple Chai Latte is that warm holiday drink you sip out of your go-to Christmas mug, with notes of maple syrup, chai, cinnamon, and sweet cream. All of the candles are hand-poured right here in Regina, SK and are made of coconut soy wax. I am so proud of this collection and just know you will love it. Shop the limited-edition collection here before it’s sold out, forever!

  6. Robe

I’ve always been a robe lover. My room was in the basement of our old, character home growing up and it was FREEZING in the winter so I asked for a huge, chenille, hot pink robe from La Senza and I wore it to bed every night, on top of my flannel pajamas. I actually still have (and love) that robe, but have since added more aesthetically pleasing options to my lineup. I have heard amazing things about the Turkish and Waffle robes from Parachute. They are definitely on my own personal wishlist. Housecoats are a must have for moms. It’s part of my morning routine, to throw one on on top of my PJs when I get up in the morning. I’ve also considered getting my husband one for Christmas.

  7. Dyson Airwrap

I’ve lusted over the Dyson Airwrap since they were released three years ago and still haven’t bit the bullet to actually purchase one; however, I have several friends who continue to swear by it. Therefore, it will continue to hold a spot on my gift guide. This pricey little device blow dries and styles your hair all in one, much like a salon blow out but at home. For now, I’ll just keep up with my weekly blow outs. But I still want it.

  8. Necessaire Body Care

I will continue to rave about this line of clean body care, with high quality, skincare level ingredients. The packaging is minimalistic and looks great in a shower, the scents are natural and boujee in the best way, AND everything is perfect for all genders. Both Garrett and I use and love the products. The exfoliant and body wash both contribute to transforming your shower into a certified spa experience, ESP in the eucalyptus scent. The body serum might just be my all around favourite product- I use it waist up. Think of it as applying vitamins and nutrients to your body, just like you do for your face. The serum is tied with the Body Oil though, especially in the winter. It’s mega hydrating and leaves you with a nice glow. I also really love the hand cream and always keep it at bedside (chic), and in my desk drawer. Necessaire is has holiday gift sets right now, as well as a free body bar with all purchases. I always have a 10% off code: KELSI10

I hope this gift guide inspired you to care for yourself or someone on your list. There is no better gift. This is my last gift guide for the season! I am also looking forward to relaxing- it is such a busy time for all of us, including content creators!

As always, thanks for your support,

XO KK
