Gift Guide for Little Guys

My little Luca, who is three years old, is the easiest guy to buy for. He legit gets SO excited for anything! He “loves” everything “so much,” which makes it oh so fun to watch him open presents. On top of that, he never really asks for anything. The only thing on his list this year is Mario Golf, so I’m hoping Santa brings that for him. Today I’m sharing a few of Luca’s current favourite things as well as what we are gifting him this year.

  1. Zingo

In my eyes, board games = family time, which why I will continue to add games to my gift guides! I love that both our kids are getting to an age where they can participate in games and trust me, they love it too! They ask for family game night on a regular basis and Zingo is a favourite for both Bella and Luca. I chose it for this gift guide because it’s simple enough for Luca to play independently (he’s 3), even though it’s labeled for ages four and up. It’s similar to Bingo but the chip dispenser makes it more fun- plus it’s great for turn taking, matching skills, and language development.

    $25.99

  2. Play-Doh Drill n Fill Dentist

What little one doesn’t love Play-doh?! My littles are constantly begging to play with Play-Doh and I know they would love this dentist set, complete with spinning drill, squeezable Play-Doh toothpaste, and nine other dental tools. Bella especially takes pride in her oral care, so I’m anticipating some fighting over this particular set. It comes highly recommended from several of my friends and is especially great to use to help prepare your kids for their dentist appointments and ease their anxiety. Equally cute Play-Doh sets I spotted include the Crazy Cuts Stylist Hair Salon and the Sushi Playset.

    $15.99-$21.00

  3. Lego Super Mario Starter Course

Luca received this super fun set for his third birthday and it’s one of his most played with toys to date. You can build a lego course for Mario to adventure through, and his LED screen lights up and responds to the different parts of the course. Since he loves it so much and plays with it so often, we plan on getting him one of the expansion packs for Christmas. We are looking at the Luigi Starter Course, the Guarded Fortress, or Bowser’s Airship.

    $49.99- $139

  4. Favourite Books

We actually don’t own these books (yet), but have borrowed them from the library and love the message. New York TImes Bestseller- The Good Egg tells a funny and charming story, reminding us of the importance of balance, self-care, and accepting those we love. While The Bad Seed is a funny yet touching tale of the remarkably transformative power of will, acceptance, and just being yourself. Lastly, The Cool Bean teaches readers that what is actually cool, is being kind- a message to never forget. I always love books that are humours, have a lesson, and are equally enjoyable for kids and adults to read.

    $20-$23/each

  5. Remote Control Monster Truck

This is another tried and true favourite in the Kendel household. Luca received this as a birthday gift and it’s always a crowd pleaser. The truck’s big wheels allow it to drive on all terrains- including on water- so it’s super fun to use on the pool or at the beach! A fool-proof gift idea!

    $80 on sale for $70

  6. Brio Train Set

A classic Christmas morning gift! The perfect toy to set up around the Christmas tree, plus this one has a high tech twist on the classic toy. The smart tech feature makes sounds as the engine passes through different terrains and tunnels. We got this model for the kids last Christmas and we all still love playing with it. It gets lots of use and is just as much fun to build as it is to watch the train go around the track.

Regular $231- on sale for $202.

  7. Modular Play Couch

We haven’t taken the leap to purchase a real play couch yet, for now our kids just use our expensive sectional as a play couch. So I just know they would be all over the modular sofa. If you haven’t heard of these things- they are made of squishy foam and designed for kids to make forts, slides, and whatever else they want out of them. So you don’t have to constantly tell them to stop wrecking your couch, and trying to put it back together. The perfect “wow” gift for any playroom.

    $299. 99 + 25% off Plum Plus Members + 15% off Plum Members

I’m looking forward to seeing Luca open up a few of these items on December 25th, so just I can watch his priceless little reactions. I swear, I could wrap up a carrot and he would be stoked! Happy shopping, mamas!
